Guatemala Here We Come

Do you ever feel like life goes by at break-neck speed?  Mostly I live moment to moment because I cannot keep up with everyone and everything!  I need perspective...an eternal perspective of what is REALLY important versus what is simply urgent. Traveling to Guatemala gives me an in-your-face eternal perspective about what is really important.
As I anticipate our return to Guatemala this summer, my heart is filled with a mixture of excitement and sadness.  Our little friend, Anyuli, went to be with Jesus in the fall.  The story is heartbreaking from an earthly perspective, but from the eternal perspective, it is a joyous celebration for her sweet little face is now in the presence of the Holy One. AND she no longer needs a kidney transplant because she is whole.  I look forward to crying and laughing with Veronica, Anyuli's mother, as we share memories of this sweet little girl.
This year we are excited to be bringing my sister-in-law, Audrey and her two sons, Simon and Sam!  Over the years my brother, John, and I talked about his family traveling to Guatemala with us and now we are continuing the dream even in his absence. Both Simon and Sam have been attending Spanish immersion school since kindergarten and we will put their Spanish to good use.
Your prayers for us and our Guatemalan friends are so vital! We cherish them.  Our trip dates are June 15-25. Please pray that the details of the trip will fall into place.
Holy Spirit, fall afresh on us all
Caroline
